Mr. Niels Nielsen, the present owner of Niels Nielsen MC, founded the company in 1970. With over 30 years of experience, every repair or restoration is performed at the highest possible level of quality in both craftsmanship and materials. The company is dedicated solely to repairs and reconditioning of, as well as trading with, the Danish Nimbus motorcycle.
The regular spare part stock includes approximately 95% of the parts listed in the original factory spare parts catalogue, for the 1938-1960 models. Rare parts, such as seat frames, tool boxes, centre stands, rear lights, new connection rods with babbitt metal bearings, fuel tanks, differentials for sidecar- and solo engines, etc. are included in this stock. Most spare parts for pre-1938 models can be found or manufactured on request.
For the following repairs, we offer to either renovate your worn-out parts, replace them with reconditioned parts, or to use only new parts, if possible.
- Complete restoration of cylinder heads.
- New valves and valve seats for unleaded petrol can be mounted, if desired.
- Grinding of cranks.
- Casting of new babbitt metal into original connection rods in good condition. (This is only performed on rods with borings larger than 38.75 mm.)
- Reboring of cylinders. Cylinder liners can be fitted if necessary.
- Reboring and reconditioning of carburettors.
- Complete restoration of generators, fly wheels, clutches, and oil pumps (only with original cogwheels).
- Building of new wheels. If desired, with stainless steel rim and spokes.
Complete restorations of Nimbus motorcycles are performed, to the highest possible standard.
In the well-equipped workshop of Niels Nielsen MC, almost no kind of repair or reconditioning is impossible. However, please make an appointment, before bringing in your Nimbus or your parts for larger repairs.
During the winter, Niels Nielsen is gives nimbus-reconditioning courses. The courses are given in Danish only, so participants must be able to understand, speak and read Danish, in order to attend. Please contact Niels Nielsen for further information.
